We get fed up of Industry slang within AR Residential therefore to help you avoid the minefields here are a few examples.

• AST – Assured Shorthold Tenancy
• FWT – Fixed wire test
• GSR – Gas safety record
• Periodic – you hold over in your tenancy without entering a new fixed term
• Smokes – Smoke detector test
• EPC – Energy Performance certificate
• Break Clause – That you have a clause that you can enforce during the tenancy agreement
• Fixed term – You are tied into a contract to the end date and if you leave early you may incur the reletting costs
• RPI - Retail price index linked to as possible rent increase
